Full Time Nursery Practitioner

Qualifications: NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent, are essential qualifications to hold.  First Aid Food Hygiene, Child Protection and EYFS related qualifications.

Skills: The candidate must have good knowledge of the EYFS and have experience of being a strong key person. Excellent communication skills are essential to ensure both the child and their family are provided with the right amount of professional and emotional support.

Woodlands is a progressive setting who are continually changing. With this in mind, the potential candidate must have an enthusiastic approach to improving outcomes for children, their families and the nursery team. Ideally the candidate should have good ICT skills, however  training will be provided to ensure children’s records are maintained.

Job description: To work around the nursery supporting Key People to provide a highly stimulating, caring and exciting environment, liaising with parents and other professionals, being flexible, planning and adapting activities to suit  children’s individual needs.  To attend and complete regular parent’s evenings to ensure the parent and key person relationship is of a high standard.  To adhere to Woodlands Policies and Procedures as well as the requirements of the EYFS.  A full job description will be sent out with all prospective applicants.

Details of hours of work: Full Time, Permanent. Monday to Friday- 7.30/8am-6.00pm. All full time staff work a 4 day week. There may be opportunities to increase hours depending on contract. Woodlands are open all year excluding bank holidays and for one week over Christmas.

Full Time Nursery Apprentice

Looking to learn whilst you earn? Than the apprenticeship route is great place to start your career in childcare! During your apprenticeship you will be working as a member of the nursery team to ensure that all children attending the setting receive high quality care, are kept safe and receive rich and stimulating play experiences which meet their individual needs and the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage. Your training will be fully supported and relevant training will be given including, First Aid, Safeguarding, Child Protection and Prevent Duty, just to name a few. We have very well known and respected NVQ providers and our team of Qualified Practitioners are always on hand to support you throughout. Our aim is to give you the very best start by supporting your personal and professional development that will result in you becoming a Qualified Woodlands Practitioner!

Skill: You will need to have good customer service skills, good communication both verbal and written and a passion for working with children ages 0-5 years.

Job description: Working with children aged 0 to 5 years within a team of practitioners who are passionate about childcare. To help provide a friendly and stimulating environment with endless learning opportunities and observe in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage. Communicate with parents, staff and other professionals and contribute your own ideas towards our planning and our resources.

Bank Staff- Holiday Cover

Qualifications: Ideally you will have a Level 3 Early Years Qualification or working towards. Having a current First Aid Certificate and Food Hygiene will be an advantage but not essential as training can be given.

Skills: Having strong communication skills and the ability to be spontaneous and flexible is essential as this role could mean working within a variety of units at different times. A sense of humour and the willingness to be a part of a progressive team will be required.  We are a large full day care setting that has a strong passion for enjoying the experiences we offer our children therefore if you believe you are the right person to fulfil this vacancy we would love to hear from you.

Job description : To resume the role of a temporary key person in their absence.  This will involve meeting the individual needs of children according to their parent’s wishes as well as the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage. Responsible for ensuring each child has their voices heard in relation to their interests and desired activities.  To complete observations of, ‘wow’ moments and to communicate effectively with their key person, room manager and parent. To follow the settings Policies and Procedures. To simply relive your childhood and have fun.

Details of hours of work: Our opening times are Monday to Friday 7.30am until 6.00pm.  The hours required would be at any point during the opening times, to cover holidays.
