Our Kitchen

Our Kitchen & Food
  • Food and Menus

  • This is a very important side of our care. We provide the best quality balanced diets prepared by our Fully Qualified kitchen team.

All of our staff have been trained in food preparation and food hygiene which is vital to maintaining the high standards in our business and we continue to be rated ‘5’ for food hygiene by Hampshire County Council.

This is the best score possible under their guidelines.

Nutrition is paramount to ensure children have enough energy to participate in the vast array of activities that are on offer throughout their day. Our current menu is available for our parents to see, it is displayed in each unit and available on request.

  • Fruit is available with most deserts. This means they are receiving fruit during their snack times as well as during their deserts, both at lunch and dinner.

  • Our Menus

  • All of the menus have been carefully designed to ensure children receive the right amount of each of the food groups.

Full information on what makes up each dish can be found on the daily menu board displayed under the tree in our main car park.

    • All of the dishes are homemade on site.
    • Fresh fruit and vegetables are dominant in every recipe, whether they are on full view or carefully hidden within delicious sauces.
    • We change our menus twice a year to incorporate the summer and winter months.
    • A three-week rotation allows children to experience a good variety of recipes from around the world.
    • Our children receive two-course meals both at lunchtime and at dinnertime.
  • Week 1

The week one menu provides a selection of home-cooked meals with both standard and vegetarian options. Dishes include jacket potatoes, soups, macaroni cheese, cottage pie, fish or vegetable alternatives, and lentil-based meals, served with vegetables and followed by fruit or simple desserts.

  • Week 2

The week two menu offers a variety of home-cooked meals with vegetarian options available each day. Dishes include bean jambalaya, cauliflower and broccoli cheese, lentil lasagne, vegetable wraps, curry with rice and lentil bolognese, served with vegetables and followed by fruit or light desserts.

  • Week 3

The week three menu offers a variety of home-cooked meals with both standard and vegetarian options available. Dishes include favourites such as pasta, vegetable curries, wraps, rice and noodle meals, and pizza, served with vegetables. Meals are followed by fresh fruit or simple desserts such as yoghurt and fruit-based options.

  • Locally Sourced Produce

We want to support our local community as much as possible; therefore we always purchase our milk, cream, eggs and bread for toast from the local dairy, the fruit and vegetables from our local green grocer in Park Gate and our meat and poultry from the butchers based at Lee-On-The-Solent. This ensures we have a full understanding of where the products come from as well as ensuring they are fresh every day.

We cater for all staff as well as children and they can all eat at the same time. We find this is an excellent way to develop their social skills.
