We are very pleased to announce the completion of our large outdoor play place.  We now have a wonderful selection of areas where children can have different experiences and explore different textures.  We really value our outdoor play and now we can all enjoy this new addition to the Woodlands nursery.

Stop in and Shop Fund Raiser

Our annual Stop in and Shop event this year raised £2158.11 for the Southampton Neonatal Unit. It was a fabulous day and we would like to thank all those who helped on the committee, donated raffle and tombola prizes, cakes and came on the day to spend some money for this worthwhile cause.

Upcoming Mother's Play Day

We would like to invite all Mummy’s/grandma’s to join us on our Mother’s play day at Woodlands. The dates and times will be as follows: Baby Bees 30th March 2011 9.00am – 10.30am or 2.00pm – 3.30pm Busy Bees 31st March 2011 9.00am – 10.30am or 2.00pm – 3.30pm Worker Bees 1st April 2011 9.00am – 10.30am or 2.00pm – 3.30pm You are welcome to attend either a morning or afternoon session. We have lots of exciting activities planned for you to get up to with your little one, these include decorating biscuits, making bookmarks, bracelets and threading, playing with the musical instrument, dancing and planting beautiful sunflowers to take home. If your child does not usually attend on the day of your rooms play day, you are still more than welcome to come along and play but you will be required to stay with your child and they will be under your supervision. Lunch or tea will not be provided for your child if this is not their usual day. If you decide to attend the afternoon session the children that are already booked in for the day will be having sandwiches for their tea so you may also join them by bringing your child a packed lunch if you wish. World Book Day

Dear Parents, On Thursday 3rd March and Friday 4th March we will be celebrating World Book Day. We have lots of fun activities planned for your child to take part in, they include: Making gingerbread men or jam tarts. Making their own crowns Role playing with different masks Decorating their own bookmarks to take home We will be having special storytelling sessions in each area, followed by activities that relate to the story told. Dressing up Putting on puppet shows for our friends. We will be encouraging all the children and staff to talk about or show us their favourite stories from home, please could they bring in their favourite books from home for us to share with their friends at nursery. Please feel free to dress up your child in their favourite storybook characters on either or both the days.
